There is absolutely no free tech support offered on self installation of your Landing Page or the ELP Script but we do provide these instructions for the do it yourselfer.

Individuals with technical backgrounds will find these instructions helpful in successfully completing the installation of the ELP Script and the various elements involved to do so.

In order begin the process of developing your Email Landing Page you’ll need a hosting provider and domain name.
(Linux Operating System Can Only Be Used)

You can either purchase a domain from a host provider or “point” a domain to the host provider servers if you have domains “parked” at other hosting companies. It’s NOT recommended to use Go Daddy or 1&1 for hosting or “parked” domains.

We recommend nycheaphosting.com  (Golden Package, $4.95 a month, Purchase Quarterly) to host your ELP.

Five elements must be in place in order for your ELP script to function properly: (1) Linux Hosting (2) Domain Name
(3) A HTML Landing Page (4) The creation of a SQL Database and (5) The ELP Script. (Emailed to you upon request)

Without these elements properly in place your Landing Page, ELP Script, ELP Backend, and DBE Software
will not function properly.

Landing Page:

The landing page must be called “index.html”, must have its own folder name and any images used must be placed in
sub-folder within the main folder called “images”. That means any images used in your landing page "points" to the images folder and the images as such.

Folder----> index.html -----> images

SQL Data Base:

Create a user with a password and a database on the system. Call it User_____, and Db____.

You will probably have to use the site's CPanel or Plesk interface to do this, usually the phpMyAdmin won't let you create a database or a user.

The database user should have UPDATE, SELECT, INSERT, DELETE and CREATE TABLE privileges, preferably no more than these and the user should be attached to the database.

Go to file images directory located in the ELP Script and find "mxlpxl.php" and adjust it to match the
username, password & database. This is the database connection and must be done correctly or there will be an error message when building the database. Then you are back to square one and frustrated.

In mxlpxl.php, usually the $Host="localhost", but some hosting companies use different parameters.
It is advisable to check before proceeding.

Create a directory "/ELP" off of the web root. Load all the files into this directory.

Of course, customize the Landing Page, index.html to suit the your goals. before you upload.

Run makeTables.php, this will create the database tables. Also, you will quickly find out if you have a database connection.

To run makeTables.php, just enter it's URI in your browser's address bar, or find the link on the test.php page.
http://www.yourdomainname/ELP/test.php The link will only be there if the tables don't exist.

If there are errors, in emailtracking.php, it could be due to the PHP version being less than 5.
Use emailtracker_PHP_lt_5.2.php. Older versions of PHP don't support the filter_var() function.

All the data gets inserted into the database and is analyzed and can be easily viewed, as well as the email addresses downloaded from the ELP set.

Database Emailer Configuration When Using ELP:
You're now ready to email using your new ELP.
